Visits to Annapolis and Santa Clara

First up Sailors for the Sea’s program coordinator Tyson Bottenus is attending the National Marine Educators Association (NMEA) National Conference in Annapolis, MD. He will be presenting on the benefits of informal education for the marine sciences and recruiting lessons for our environmental education program. The NMEA’s mission is to make known the world of water both fresh and salt, and they bring together formal and informal marine educators around the world to promote awareness and education of the global marine environment. We could not be more excited to be part of this group and to have a week dedicated to marine science and ocean literacy!

In Santa Clara, CA our president R. Mark Davis is representing Sailors for the Sea at the Green Sports Alliance Summit. The summit serves as a platform for the sports community to unite around sustainability with more than 600 industry stakeholders engaging in meaningful dialogue around better environmental practices and proven solutions that help to advance the green sports movement.
