Setting up recycling at your club or event is a simple and straightforward way to take a step toward your Clean Regatta. If your club or municipality already has recycling, then all you have to do is set up recycling bins alongside all your trash bins at the regatta, and make sure signs are well posted so participants know where to dispose of bottles, cans, and other recyclables.

You can download signs and stickers to post for your recycling and trash bins.

If you don't have a recycling system set up already, the first step is to contact a local waste hauling or recycling company to schedule a pickup at your site. It is very likely that your city or town has municipal recycling services that you can take advantage of depending on the location of your club or regatta. This is usually very geographically specific, so Sailors for the Sea can help you make these arrangements if you contact us by phone or email. Don't hesitate to get in touch!

Here are a few larger companies that may be in your area:
  • Republic Services (http://www.disposal.com/)
  • Waste Management (http://www.wm.com/)
  • 1-800-GOT-JUNK (http://www.1800gotjunk.com/)
