Boston Interactive Launches Redesigned Website for Sailors for the Sea

Boston, MA May 8, 2009 - Boston Interactive, a Boston web design and interactive marketing firm, proudly announces the launch of Sailors for the Sea (www.sailorsforthesea.org). Sailors for the Sea is a nonprofit organization that educates and empowers the boating community to protect and restore our oceans and coastal waters.

Sailors for the Sea partnered with Boston Interactive to redesign their online presence in order to promote active involvement in ocean-related environmental awareness. The newly redesigned website activates, educates, and engages visitors to get involved with ocean conservation by providing original content and information about opportunities for stewardship. Their diverse portfolio of projects and programs encourage active involvement in ocean conservation. With striking imagery, interactive applications and video integration, sailorsforthesea.org is a fresh, compelling, and interactive new voice for ocean conservation.

Within the site, users can explore ocean conservation and awareness by following the Around the Americas Sailing Expedition, watching clips of "A Sea Change", the new documentary focusing on the urgent ocean acidification crisis, engaging in Clean Regattas and other programs and even measure their own carbon impact through a Carbon Wake Calculator. The website also accepts donations and membership requests.

"We were tasked with the challenge of increasing awareness of Sailors for the Sea, drawing visitors to the site and transferring visits into activated, connected members of the community by educating, engaging and inspiring sailors to get involved" said John Francis, President of Boston Interactive. "The redesigned website will certainly help boost their reputable mission and provide several interactive avenues for advocacy and involvement."
