Strategic Alliances

OceanGybe is a global sailing expedition to explore the remote coastlines of the world, in search of adventure, garbage and world class waves. Our goal is to bring awareness to the vast tracts of undocumented ocean pollution that afflicts these coastlines and affects the peoples who depend on them for survival. Over the past two years, Hugh Patterson, Ryan and Bryson Robertson have been sailing around the world documenting the polluted state of our oceans and the isolated beaches due to plastic and other detritus. They have sailed some 45 000 ocean km, visited almost 30 different countries, crossed the three major oceans of the world and presented their findings and ocean conservation message to thousands of school children globally.

Summer Sailstice

The 9th Annual Summer Sailstice to be held June 20/21, 2009.
Summer Sailstice is the global holiday celebrating sailing held annually on the summer solstice, the longest sailing days of the year. Pledges from this year's Summer Sailstice will help support Sailors for the Sea's Around the Americas Project.

Outward Bound Odyssey

Starting on April 17, 2009 two Outward Bound Sea Program, Roger Martin Design Sharpie Schooners, will sail north from Key Largo, Florida to their mainland base in Spruce Head, Maine. This journey, much like the Around the Americas project, will raise awareness of environmental issues and will promote Sailors for the Sea's mission to educate and empower individuals to protect and restore our oceans and coastal waters. The expedition will conduct an environmental and cultural survey, the findings of which will be compiled and posted to the Outward Bound website and will be made available to school groups and other interested parties.

The Ark of Ideas

The Ark of Ideas is a global campaign about climate protection using an emission free circumnavigation as a symbolic reference, initiating local activities and raising awareness through a participative web community and strong media presence.

Participe Futur

Participe Futur is a French/Swiss non-profit organization that aims at preserving the marine environment through promoting research, awareness and educational programmes onboard its two sailing boats, Alcyon and Halifax.
